I see other ways of looking at things I may never have thought of, and that has helped me grow.
I can honestly say that I have not been as attentive to listening as I had been in the past. We have been talking past each other. It has always been a race to talk as soon the other has stopped. Today is the day when I will listen to my kids with full attention. Thanks for the reminder today.
Yesterday I said that human behaviour does not cease to astonish me. Listening to what these humans have to say may offer some explanation of their behaviour and expand my understanding of a great variety of things.
It all starts with listening. Asking questions and really listening to what someone is saying, is how we connect as humans. Thanks for the reminder. This is a practice that I have neglected lately. 🙏
I don’t know but I appreciated myself for listening to the other person on yesterday’s zoom even when I had things I wanted to say and waiting til she was finished saying what she had to say 🙂 ps – after reading the other comments, I realize that I admire and respect the person I was listening to, which made it rewarding to listen to her. 🙂
So many wonderful answers–all of those. I’ll add that when I’m able to engage in a group conversation we can create something together by listening and connecting ideas or insights. I experience a sense of weaving together and co-creating something none of us could have woven alone.
I have no response because I am opened and listened to all of yours. Thank you for sharing.
Lisiting others bring more POV and sides to find the solutions, indirectly we can find solutions of every problems so fast.
Listening to others creates possibility by seeing/learning different perspectives other than yourself.
I read once, the best way to show someone you love them is to pay attention to them. To me this meant listen to them.
I also think it is important to listen with a loving heart. Not just waiting for your turn to talk.
Oh, that last line is so true!
Listening opens us up to new opinions, thoughts and experiences. It can alter the way we see a situation or our own lives, giving us new perspectives and ideas.
Listening to others gives possibility to those who need an ear to listen and vent. It also allows us to hear someone’s view and perhaps see things in a different light and be more open minded
Listening with an open mind and the intention to understand expands my experience of being human and connection. May I improve in all the factors that contribute to these capacities.
Really listening to someone opens the door to being fully present with them, to taking the time to truly BE with whatever they are experiencing.
It is a really wonderful way to accept someone as they are.
Listening to others opens my heart and soul to new perspectives and new trusts.
