Every day I try to improve my resilience through meditation. Observing that I don’t have control over all my thoughts helps me to keep moving forward and fight for what I like even when my thoughts want the opposite. Finding this site was wonderful. I think it will help me too. A peaceful day for all.
Where I live, severe storms and climate events have become a regular occurrence. Standing things up again after floods, fire storms and cyclones is now part of the ordinary way of life. Nature has an incredible ability to be resilient.
Living after my own values gives strength. Living according to what is called Dharma (treat others and the world as you want to be treated) gives contentment. Knowing that in the end the good is always stronger than the bad gives hope.
By worrying less? 😐
If I could just figure out how. There are some good tips in the Hope class for today.

‘Funny you should mention ‘news’, Rabbit – my new adopted cat lived his previous 8 yrs in a home with the TV on, and my TV had always been off. I’m running it more now – usually on mute. Occasionally I unmute to hear some bit of news but usually not 🙂
I have not read his books. Thank you for the reminder. Was it the Audacity of Hope? Did you see the movie The South Side with You? I watched it twice. It did read Becoming and liked it very much.
Fun! I had forgotten that book, and I didn’t see the movie. I read his and Michele Obama’s recent autobiographies / memoirs. This was on the gratefulness homepage one day and I saved it. I’m searching my gratefulness doc [not ‘dog’!] for hope quotes to post on the hope days 🙂
I can cultivate resilience by practicing with the small stuff. Letting myself feel whatever I am feeling, accepting what comes that I cannot control and having faith it will all work out. Also, looking at the lessons I am learning by going through the challenge.
Unconsciously I presume. And always move towards my values. Every challenging moment I endure helps form a callus.
I like that “cultivate” was used in the question because resilience develops with small steps. Although those steps might seem huge at the time we face them. Just taking a shower can feel like climbing a mountain in the face of deep grief or serious illness.
Tending to myself and life’s demands – as I am able – in the midst of setbacks helps grow and stretch my resilience.
I’m actually in a resilience training right now. No such thing as coincidence. I am most resilient when I maintain a disciplined (yet not inflexible) schedule of practices which bring me into myself. Starting my day on gratefulness.org is a gift that fills my cup with gratefulness, self-love, and joy. When I drink those in I can more easily adjust to ups and downs. My partner, pets and plants help, too!
Find beauty and blessing in spite of toil and trouble, practice peace, and hold onto hope.

Good morning, Diane. I am grateful to meet you here on this Prayer Tuesday, my friend. Thank you for your kind words which brighten this day. I am a bit discombobulated … trying to schedule medical appointments. Finding new doctors, along with my way around. I wonder how long it will take to actually feel at home here!

We have lost four doctors this year too. The primary doctors do not make us comfortable yet. It looks like so many doctors will be retiring soon.
I will cultivate resilience with love and faith.
Perhaps pray, or surround oneself with people who themselves are known to be resilient. Otherwise, I have no idea.
The more hardships one lives through seems to fortify ones resilience, but it hardly makes sense to go out looking for difficulties to endure.
I might cultivate resilience by focusing inward, maintaining daily gratitude practices, meditation, and faith.
Ask for strength and trust the process.
I like “trust the process.” Very apt description.
Letting go- letting go of the thoughts, feelings, worries, and all the other things that the human mind world creates. Letting go and accepting creates more resilience. Do the best you can right now and live today !
