WHAT CAN I DO TO EXPRESS GRATITUDE AND SERVE PEACE?
To express gratitude and serve peace today I will be present in the day and spend less time over thinking.
I will affirm my blessings this morning
I will sing through-out the day
I will have designated times where i am working and times where I am playing.
I will leave my laptop at home when I step out.
I will dance and listen to music today.
I will stretch/yoga, meditate and pray.
I will surround my loved ones with a peaceful yet fun energy.
I can serve peace by listening first and judging later. I can express gratitude by using my words.
Well honestly, it’s small because I have a lot of work to do, but perhaps I can make a post on Facebook related to gratitude and peace-perhaps something about peace with others or gratitude for the amazing world we live in.
To perceive and listen carefully to someones pain and fear and do what I can to help; to stop and to listen to the musician in the street who plays the violin so soulfully for all who pass by, honoring his gift through listening with all my heart and giving some money; picking up the bigger or smaller pieces of paper or other rubbish while walking joyfully and full of gratitude in some rare beautiful nature so that the next one may be as immersed in its overwhelming beauty as well.
Beautiful ideas, Ose, thank you.
take time off to be alone with yourself and know what you want with your life
Tolerance; truth; equanimity-All the goodies
Today is difficult as a relative who leans far-right (as in tipped over) is creating havoc in the family. It is so easy to get riled up. Thank you for the reminder to walk in peace.
You have a challenging family situation, Linda. Please be kind to yourself.
Gratitude and Grace often walk shoulder to shoulder. Grace cannot be sought as it is unmerited, but gratitude is something I can embody which I feel provides an openness and an atmosphere for acceptance no matter what is showing up in this life.
I emailed the Lounge’s Gratitude Day picture with the dog 🐶 🐩 🐕 to my kids and granddaughters – check it out, everyone! 🤗😘
Notice everything around me. Be at peace with my life and with myself. Be the best person I can be today.
Be kind in all I do today. Apply cheerfulness to everything & constantly give thanks for all. Thank you to gratefulness.org for this site & all the good it shares. 🙏❤️🙏
Work to fully see, appreciate and humbly engage in the work of the day and in interactions with those around me. Then do it again tomorrow and the day to follow.
Gratitude has recently been very difficult for me. I have spent so much time in a state of envy and a war within myself. To express gratitude and serve peace, I can begin with what I feel inside towards myself and others. Listen to other peoples pain and joys and learn to spread positivity in a world that really needs it.
May you learn to leave that state, dear Stormy Weather ☁️ -> ⛅️ -> ☀️
Continuing what I’ve been doing everyday. Appreciating everything. Practicing kindness. Staying present. I’m listening to the audiobook “Wake Up Grateful” right now by Kristi Nelson, the organization’s exec director. It’s really beautiful. Every chapter has action steps. Simply starting your morning and saying thank you for waking up is already acknowledging the miracle of life. I’m practicing that. Heightening my awareness of things I’ve taken for granted, and saying thank you.
I can express gratitude for nearly everything. If I am honest, there is very little in my life that is more than minor inconvenience. I can be mindful of both expressing and taking time to really sit with the gratitude. Peace, I feel, will then be more clear within and surrounding me, and I can express this to and encourage this in those around me. I hope to teach my children these practices as they grow, so it is a cornerstone of their lives.
Stay vigilant, stay charged with Mind Vitality so as to be able to respond from heart and Soul , NOT distracted by the fallen Ones and their tricks. And to aways know ‘Peace’ as a state with a direct opposite here in the dualistic world, that opposite is Stagnation. So again Stay vigilant.
Happy day, everyone.
Today I will try to feel at peace with myself. Peace begins here.
I am grateful for my family, and I hope to model peace and gratitude for my children who are now very young adults and finding their way. They are the first ripple outward of peace.
There are children in the neighborhood, to some of which I am an almost-aunt. It takes a community to raise a child. I wish to show the children peace, to love themselves, and tolerance (or better, love) of others.
Today I will remember to be grateful throughout the day.
Wow…as always, so many good answers! I will do my best to be at peace with everyone I meet today, even my neighbor who hates me. I will offer peace to her once more through my actions. It is a little thing, but can make a difference. And I think I will sign up for the 6 week course being offered on this site…..
Look at and listen to the world through a lens and filter of gratitude and peace. When I interpret and understand life through these lens/filters, I tend to live and respond that way as well.
I can send a smile of gratitude to nature and share inviting smiles with strangers. I can thank my students for sharing their stories and thank myself when I am vulnerable and kind.
Every morning I send out to a group of folks an email encouraging Peace, Prayer, Love, Kindness, Gratefulness, or some other virtue that happens to strike my fancy that morning. Many of them have replied over time that they appreciate my little morning “jabs” reminding them to be kind or grateful or peaceful or caring to someone else that day…
Thank you, Samuel – that’s wonderful 🤗
I can let those around me know how grateful I am for their love. I can let the kids I teach know that I am grateful for their efforts and that I believe in them. I can try to make every interaction kind.
I will continue to express gratitude and serve peace by sharing, caring and being kind to all. It’s simple and easy.
I am grateful for these brand new twenty-four hours I have to live this day. I am grateful for my Blood Ancestors: my mother and father, my maternal and paternal grandparents, and beyond. I am grateful for my Spiritual Ancestors: Jesus, Buddha, the Saints, Mystics, Shaman, Holy Women and Holy Men, and beyond. I am grateful to Mother Earth, so wounded, yet she still sustains life, still shows us her beauty. And, I am grateful to my Mother-Father God, the Womb-of-God, for all of Creation.
What can I do … ? From St. Francis … “make me an instrument of your peace.” Use me to smile at everyone, not judge anyone, to understand first, to listen deeply, and to be kind to all, including myself.
Just beautiful…you said it so well. thank you.
For all the many gifts I have to be grateful for today I will offer an act of charity in atonement for my gratitude of a loving family, a beautiful home, wonderful friends and family,, I’m a blessing of my church community. The following is the prayer that Saint Francis left us set reminder slot a peaceful heart is the goal of our faith while on Eartt.
instrument of your peace:
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Ehere there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.
O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console,
to be understood as to understand,
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

I love especially the first minute of this video.
Keep up the good work! That’s what I can do!
Happy World Gratitude Day and International Day of Peace, y’all. These “Days” are really just normal days for many… my wish is that it will become that way for all 🙂
Keep on keeping on, as some have shared here. Having created a filter of gratitude and peacemaking, they are a go-to, and when you get off track, it takes no time to know something is off. Returning to the foundation is always a coming home then.
An important part of the peace-making process is to make peace with yourself, too. An at peace, peace-maker, makes peace peacefully.
I express gratitude daily by visiting this site. This site is very important to me – I value all the members/reflections, the candle lighting, E-cards, Word for the Day. Gratitude makes me more grounded. Peace comes from within.
To be honest, I will keep doing what I do every day, striving always to remain grateful and continue practicing my faith as a Quaker.
Treat all people with kindness, regardless of race, gender orientation, sexual orientation, religion and sign a peace pledge and respect the environment.
Happy Gratitude Day, dear friends.
I like to share the prayer for peace from Inayat Khan with you.
PRAYER FOR PEACE
Send Thy peace O Lord, which is perfect and everlasting, that our souls may radiate peace.
Send Thy peace O Lord, that we may think, act and speak harmoniously.
Send Thy peace O Lord, that we may be contented and thankful for Thy bountiful gifts.
Send Thy peace O Lord, that amidst our worldly strife, we may enjoy Thy bliss.
Send Thy peace O Lord, that we may endure all, tolerate all, in the thought of Thy grace and mercy.
Send Thy peace O Lord, that our lives may become a Divine vision and in Thy light, all darkness may vanish.
Send Thy peace O Lord, our Father and Mother, that we Thy children on Earth may all unite in one family.
