I am really grateful for this life I got and everything that God provides me with. My family, my friends, the food I eat daily, and every other thing.
For my morning coffee, books and music
Am not up long but already so many. I’m breathing, so that’s a good start. I like it that I can keep breathing and fully intend to until the last one. And then there’s that cup of water I just had and the warmth of shelter.
je suis reconnaissante de me reveiller ce matin et de voir de la neige tombé
translation: I’m grateful to wake up this morning and see snow fallen
Shelter, healthy food, a good car, my husband and family, and all is well.
As others have mentioned , food, water, shelter and safety. I’m also grateful for my five senses and my ability to think and reason and love.
Food supply. As our local food supply is in serious long term jeopardy due to catastrophic flooding. My gratitude is boundless for all who are figuring out solutions short term and long term.
A long slow deep breath, exhale
My friends know my response will be coffee! Coffee is more than my favored beverage: it means that I acknowledge the earth that produced it; the hands that harvested it; all the people and “tech” that brought it to my cupboard. I give thanks that I have shelter in which to make my coffee and enough peace every day to enjoy — to the very last drop. So, for me, coffee is basic.
The soil – the mother of so much life on this planet.
My breath, my cats, indoor plumbing, and heat and air conditioning, thought that may not be basic! I’m also grateful for the trees, earth, sun and sky I get to take in everyday from my home office!
After the ordeal of replacing a simple plastic locknut that attaches the faucet to the basin in the bathroom this morning, I was almost ready swear off indoor plumbing forever! I’m truly grateful for patience when I exercise it.
Clean water, every time I turn on the faucet I say “thank you” to the Earth and all who make it possible. When I do I feel connected to all the people and nature.
Sunshine. It lifts my mood and keeps me warm. I consider it “basic” because it’s always there and I don’t need to do much to experience it…although I guess in actuality it is anything but.
Some “basic” things for which I am truly grateful are my education, my car, safe shelter, clean food and water, my body’s ability to move, my brain (especially the limbic system, which I find so fascinating!), and the fact that I am alive right now.
Wheels, reels, soles, bowls and rolls
Clean water, breathing fresh, food and shelter are basics I’m very grateful .
Basics that we may take for granted and yet for which I am grateful? The air I breathe, that it is still clean and keeps me alive; the water I drink, that it is still clean enough to support us; the food I eat; warmth from the sun; shelter from the elements; companions along the way.
Today, I am grateful for my strength and resilience. I am grateful for my smile, my body, my heart, my love, my family, friends and the world around me. I am grateful for my the continuous presence I bring to the world and my ability to be compassionate with myself. My life is a process and learning to compassionate towards myself is something I continue to mindful of. I am grateful for the love and passion my students bring everyday and the positive energy they spread in this world.
Thank you for my role as a teacher and the ability I have to impact the children in front of me.
And so it is
Carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus, & potassium; a little half acre of dirt, all the microbes and mycelium that breathe it into life, and this precious time to appreciate and create with it.
Oh, and toilet paper!
Same as everyone has mentioned: food, shelter, water, safety, etc.
Food, shelter, safety, connection
I have been up 15 minutes this morning…
breathing / life
my cat companion
I don’t know what is “basic,” When you feel truly grateful, everything seems extraordinary!
Love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness…all the things that make life worth living.
Good health, happiness, strength, courage, peace, love, faith and safety for all.
I woke up this morning 🙂
I have shelter, clean water, fresh air, and a partner to share the journey with.
Cat & dog snuggles, sunrises and sunsets. And this hot cup of coffee!
Water, food, shelter, air, companionship, and love.
The ‘Word of the Day’
“Our own lives are the instruments with which we experiment with truth.”
THICH NHAT HANH
Encapsulates the “basic thing” but I treat the words “our own lives” to be referring to the personalities we, as Humans, put on with each new incarnation so we can yes “experiment” with in this Infinite BE-ing-ness ( aka “Life” ) we ARE and DO journey in this re-discovery of the Truth. And the “ARE and Do” is encapsulated in one word…”friendship”.
Breathing, sleeping, walking, talking, thinking, connecting….
My home, utilities, food, and a car are ‘basic’ things for which I am truly grateful. Oh, and my hot shower in the morning – sorry Christine, hot is where it’s at, not cold, lol.
Being able to get out of bed by myself and not need constant help. Having a home, a family, never having to worry about food, or transportation, clothing or communication devices like computers or phones. Having insurance on cars, home and health…so many things!
Fresh water and my cold shower in the morning.
