What brought me here is finding out about Gratefulness.org in an email about Yoga.

Read a book called “The Book of Joy” by Douglas Abrams with the Dalai Lama and Bishop Desmond Tutu. One of the chapters mentioned Brother David Steindl-Rast and the amazing work that they have done on gratefulness. Googled it and came to this site!

I learned about this website through Unity Online Radio. There’s also a link to this site posted on Unity on Cape Cod’s website (Unity is a religion that blends Christianity with New Thought).

Translation: I start this March 2021. With a grateful attitude. I was reading Ricardo Perret’s Book on the Power of Gratitude and in his book he recommended this page to me. If it is beautiful to do Gratitude Therapy, to be able to change my thoughts, feelings and emotions. GRATITUDE is helping me to change my words. I want to do this experience. To thank God for all the Blessings I receive.

Grace. I was wanting and needing to connect with community in a safe, life giving and reliable way.

Today I had a wee disappointment and realized I had not connected here for the better part of a week.

    Deep gratitude.

I am trying to become a better person. I want to be able to get along with my peers and family and be able to detect the change in the tone of my voice when I am angry. I want to be able to learn how to control my emotions and thoughts. While surfing the internet for things to help, I stumbled upon this webiste.

Good on you, Brooklyn W! Not only will you become a better person but, to do so, you make the world a better place. Skill and persistence along your way

I cannot recall who recommended this site, but since I started to visit and share, many years have passed. Anna, you are one of the friends who was present already when I came to join. I am always happy to see you here, to be with you, holding you in prayer daily. This website has been a treasure ever since, each and every day it enriches my day, sometimes challenging in a good way, and my inner movement from withdrawal to unfolding to a huge part is due to this site. All the beautiful people who run this precious website and all the Gratefulness-team and you all who come to share and to visit here are part of my daily joy when I open the computer finding your replies. Lucky we are to have such an opportunity of joining this Grateful community which is open, a gift to all!

My English teacher mentioned this site a few years ago, so as Pilgrim says, it’s history. Sometimes as a silent presence, sometimes posting my feelings or responses, always empowering my gratitude.

I have had my fair share of ups and downs but have been surprised by my resilience and, like my Mum, I do seem lucky enough to find gratitude/joy in so many things. However, my life is ridiculously busy and I have often had no time to stop, think, reflect. I read a book by someone who had spent a year exploring gratitude and found it inspiring. I meant to keep a diary myself but it never seemed to happen. Then, this year, I came across “fit mind 50” in a magazine and my mum and I decided to sign up for it – 50 new and positive things this year. So I made gratitude/reflection one of my 50 things, googled it and came up with this. What a joy it has been – not just for me but also inspiring some very deep and meaningful conversations with family.
I love reading other people’s comments and many resonate with me.
What fascinates me is that many people refer to their troubles but never in a negative way, which is something lovely to read – but I wonder – are people more willing to admit to issues here than out loud? Is that why there are so many of us referring to problems here? Or is it that people trying to lighten their burdens are more likely to take time to google and find a site like this? Why ever it is, hopefully each and everyone of you can take heart that your contributions help those of us reading them.

Interesting question. I think it might be a combination of a receptive and supportive community, not feeling you are burdening others by sharing your own challenges, and less chance of being hurt by someone responding (or not responding) in a certain way when you do share. It’s a somehow a mix of closeness and anonymity.
