The little normal everyday moments. Life is full of love and forgiveness and kindness. Life has moments of joy as well as sadness. Life is full circle.
Yes, the rain did not effect my flight home which I’m glad and grateful for. Had a nice trip, loved the cooler weather and our annual Haunted Hayride was so much fun – took my sister-in-law with us for the first time and she had a good time too 🙂
I vaguely remember a film
called ‘The Truman Show’
in which a man
lived inside a bubble,
never
(until the end)
realizing that it was an artificial world.
It was sadly lacking in the character and vibrancy
of the world I’ve inhabited my whole life.
There is no human mind or heart
wise enough
to build such a world as ours . . .
so full of mystery,
paradox,
and magic.
The surprises are endless,
and nothing stays the same.
I love this world,
and I love this life,
now that I am learning
finally
how to navigate its pathways,
but only because of those lessons,
for without them
it is very possible
I might not be here today.
The Natural world
is my first love
and my last,
but I’ve been given gifts too numerous to mention,
a few being
love and companionship,
comfort of care,
and enough of what a body needs.
I love and appreciate the extras . . .
music,
art and literature,
dance,
hard work,
and pecan pie.
It’s like all of these delicacies
and more
are laid out before me
and I can nibble where I please.
Getting older
has taught me
that I don’t need to taste them all.
I watched my precious Sophie grow up
and observe life,
and in my fanciful mind
I always felt like she sang this mantra
through it all . . .
“I love life
I love life
I love life
and life loves me.”
We had more than a bit of rain today,
dear Joseph . . .
outer bands of the latest hurricane.
I’m afraid I camped out
and didn’t exercise the form
as much as I would have
if I’d been out in the garden.
Ah me . . .
tomorrow is another day. ♥
The joy of giving kindness and receiving kindness. The power and gift of relationships. The sounds of music. The ability to read and write. The opportunity to grow.
The way you wrote your reflection,
dear Carol Ann,
made me feel like we are all grass,
reaching for the sun . . .
it is a beautiful image to me.
Thank you. ♥
I love the endless flow of discovery. I could be vacuuming the floor, feeling blah, and suddenly witness myself feeling blah, feel compassion towards the me who is feeling blah, and the whole perspective shifts. Who is “me” shifts, assuming there is a “me” at all. Life is full of shifts and surprises. If I’m patient, life becomes full of opportunity even at its most mundane.
Drea, I’m with you as someone who takes on multiple side projects doing “MarLoc 9X”, “Loc Gets Straight to the Point”, and practicing my zen principles with Sean. Discovery requires one to take care of themselves first. “Take care of yourself to serve others” is my 2nd Q2 zen goal besides appreciating simpler pleasures.
Around every corner something new awaits. Life offers so much to feel and experience when we pay attention. As Maya Angelou said, “This is a wonderful day. I’ve never seen this one before.”
Luis, that’s me in Tampa now as I’m having a great time with my family and about to hit the beaches today before returning home to the Twin Cities tomorrow.
Oy Ngoc, we pretty much said the same thing. “Curve to the Point” fits your brand. Soil is everything. Through nature is how we find balance. Nature flows while balance feels forced. Flow balances everything out. If you’re a “Curve to the Point” type, making others happy makes sense. Leave the strong and straight for the “Straight to the Point” Locsters. Consideration and autonomy don’t exactly play nicely together. It’s simple. One is collective. The other one is individualistic.
Also I want to thank everyone for their kindness and support. I did read your messages but not right away and am only now back to say Thank You!
Every word mattered.
Ironically God threw the “towel” back at me a few times that day and told me to wipe my face. Your words, my workout partner and a podcast with Simon Sineck and Adam Grant where they talked about the process being the key not the goal. All mentioned was a recipe for contemplation and trust in myself and faith.
Sometimes I think we need to wallow or feel deflated for the experience of receiving help and that is a beautiful gift in life.

The list goes on- in these connections are crazy experiences; love, laughter, support for each other, hurt feelings, joy.
Life is also an adventurous cycle experienced by all. For example, leaves grow, shade and give the tree life, ( doing what they are meant to do) change color and fall each stage a gift of life. The crazy thing this cycle of life is experienced by all things just at different speeds- that’s crazy- that’s life. And we not only get to live it- we witness on repeat when we stop to notice.
Your list of connections,
dear Deann,
suddenly appeared to me
as a picture that you see in detective movies,
where,
behind the desk,
is a wall of pictures and notes
all connected by strings and thumbtacks,
connecting the dots,
point by point.
That’s sort of how it is,
isn’t it? 🙂
Everything circles back to autonomy for me. God gave us free will to start with. Setting operations in the natural realm is where we went wrong starting with Adam and Eve letting the serpant tempting them into eating from the tree of knowledge.

I wonder . . .
did you get home today,
dear Michele? ♥
Yes, the rain did not effect my flight home which I’m glad and grateful for. Had a nice trip, loved the cooler weather and our annual Haunted Hayride was so much fun – took my sister-in-law with us for the first time and she had a good time too 🙂
So happy
to hear this grateful news,
dear Michele! 🙂
Good to read your reflection. How did you fare with Isaias, Michele?
I was in Pa visiting my daughter, family and friends – we got the remnants from it, but luckily it did not effect my flight back home to FL.

I feel this way too. ♥
Sophie’s song is perfect.
“I love life

You and a bit of rain have lifted my spirit. ‘It’ helps to get the form moving smoother when it is sluggish.

Sparrow, I like the image of the grass reaching for the sun! Thank you..
Thunderstorms, breezes, animals, love, hope, and creativity.
The process of growth.
The living of it – every single experience. And what you all said…
I was told once by a cashier at a Walgreen’s “it is gift to have one more day to witness it.” Thank you for the reminder, Katrina.
That there is never a dull moment! Take it in, be exposed to its neverending awe.

The experience of truly engaging with life in all it has to offer. 🧡

Travel, nothing else.
Nothing else,
dear Louise?
I think you loved
discovering the thieves
who stole your toilet paper.
At least it made you smile. 🙂
Luis, that’s me in Tampa now as I’m having a great time with my family and about to hit the beaches today before returning home to the Twin Cities tomorrow.
Life is not permanent. Therefore, I try to make it valuable in my view.

I agree,

it’s all about the Journey. ♥
Very true words….. thank you.
