There are endless shades of green,
ranging from the tender,
softest lime of spring ferns
to the bold,
outspoken tones of summer . . .
rich, solid forest green,
moss,
hunter,emerald
and sage.
And then there are the wistful shades of dying leaves
as their colours become weary of shining in the sun,
drifting towards buttery yellow
and amber and brown,
surprised by bight splashes of scarlet,
burgundy,
and a deep,
almost purple magenta.
When I was a little girl
I would lightly press them with my mother’s iron
between sheets of waxed paper,
hoping to save those magnificent colours.
I used to imagine
that everyone else noticed these things too,
but now,
much to my astonishment
I’ve discovered that this isn’t true at all.
‘’Green is just green . . .’’
Green is NOT just green.
The way to share,
I suppose,
is to mention to other people
when I see something beautiful,
or share it with a gift
that will make someone gasp with pleasure,
paint a picture
that brings loveliness to paper
or to sing a song
inspired
by what is glorious in the world . . .
someone will see.
Someone will listen,
and that person will be touched
by how deeply splendid it all is.
Dear Sparrow, as a fellow artistically inclined person, I have to say that each shade of any color holds a totally different presence and mood from the next! You noticed this early, as a young artist–good for you.
” I used to imagine that everyone else noticed these things too, but now, much to my astonishment I’ve discovered this isn’t true at all.” Glad to know I am not alone, dear Sparrow.
Since it’s pouring rain and looks to be doing so all day, I think I’ll share some beauty via text to some loved ones. I have a few students I like to reach out to, and of course there are family members who would appreciate hearing from me.
Oh, it definitely is, and I know others would love to have some of this non-stop rain we’ve had (over 24hrs now – still raining this Wednesday morning!). Some beauty was shared with me yesterday when my aunt sent me a photo of my 92-year-old Mamaw holding the card I sent her that said “Sending some sunshine”☀️ Seeing her smile was beautiful 💕
I can bring some flowers over to the kind person hosting today’s Grateful Gathering. We meet once a month in various peoples’ homes, and today’s host is opening her home for the first time.
Joseph and Mary, we had a wonderful meeting, discussing the topic of compassion. Some takeaways: 1) Compassion contains the word “passion,” so compassion can be combined with an energizing force to take action. 2) When you feel flooded by bad news, just focus on taking action in one way, one thing. Nothing more–just the one. 3) Grateful presence in any interaction, no matter how that interaction evolves, is a gift to yourself and to the people you are interacting with. –We had three teachers in the group, and I loved hearing their perspectives. Not an easy job, and they really have to hold compassion and presence!
”He took spontaneous joy in the material world, singing its praises like a troubadour poet. With a disarming sense of immediacy, he felt himself part of the family of the creation.”

thank you for putting this meditation up for us. ♥
I don’t know quite yet, but I will keep this thought in my pocket so that when the opportunity arises – and it will – I can share the beauty that is appropriate at the time – a smile, kind word, inspirational thought, hug, …
I’m living in staff housing at the momet and I always share whatever I make in the common kitchen with everyone, usually only two people eat it out of eight. Everyone else is really closed off and skeptical of everything. Same with the sunset, every night I go and watch the sunset over the beach and always invite whoever is around to come, they usually don’t.
A good friend and neighbor celebrates her 80th birthday this week. Today, I will deliver a small gift that is reflective of her beauty, the way she is in the world. 🍁
The beauty of fall is all around this part of the world. Smile, Smile, Smile. To all and everything and it will smile back. Sharing is contagious!
Peace, Love & Light.
I can stop by my neighbor’s yard and visit. I want to compliment them on their garden. They are Vietnamese and have many plants I’m not very familiar with. ☮️peace to all readers this day ☺️

I bought a Cranberry red mini mum and white pumpkin formy son and his fiance today to celebrate Fall. They had me over for dinner after work. 🍂

Isn’t it lovely,
dear Drea . . .
having all of these colours? ♥
Indeed it’s so true sparrow !
I love to noice nature’s flow in all of its wonder!
I’m grateful to natures flow – the universe is beautiful.
How could we not notice this,
dear Antoinette? ♥
The universe is life and alive – so beautiful Sparrow . Thank you 🙏

You are definitely not alone,
dear Joseph . . . ♥
To see beauty I just need to look beyond myself-to share beauty I just asked hubby to look out and up…at the gorgeous sunrise.
Since it’s pouring rain and looks to be doing so all day, I think I’ll share some beauty via text to some loved ones. I have a few students I like to reach out to, and of course there are family members who would appreciate hearing from me.
Rain is beautiful too,
dear SunnyPatti . . .
as Joseph would say,
”agua es vida.” ♥

Your mention
of Mamaw’s beautiful smile,
dear SunnyPatti,
lifted my heart
and made me smile too. 🙂

That sounds lovely, Drea.
Indeed it does, Joseph.🍁

Pay genuine attention to all I meet today. Be kind…greet them with a smile.

I will share the jewels from the garden. The cherry tomatoes are like candy. The juice Ness and sweetness put a smile on anyone that enjoys them.
Oh yes,
dear Yram . . .
there is nothing
like a home grown tomatoe,
still warm from the sun’s kiss! 🙂

This opportunity is an infinite well isn’t it, Katrina?🧡
Greeting every one I meet, silently or spoken and silently imagine offering a rose as a thank you for their kind being here with me and all.
🌹
Ose ! Hi 💓where have you been? I have missed you here .
🌹❤️

I can share the beauty of how to let go of the human mind world and see the beauty of Truth. I get to guide meditation now ! Thank you universe.
You have the beautiful gift of you
to share,
dear Antoinette. ♥

That’s kind of you, Louise. Even if others don’t join, they know you have thought of them, which shows you care. Keep enjoying the sunsets!
Today is my menards piano shift. I’ll be sharing the beauty of music with the customers there.
Beautiful that you share the beauty of music with the ones around there.

Indeed it is,
dear Joseph . . .
our leaves are just starting. ♥
Joseph, last check, it’s still green grass and leaves in Minnesota like summer, but we’ll eventually be heading there.

They will be so pleased, Carla, that you noticed and took the time to tell them. I can see their smiles.🍁
Thank you, Carla. May peace be with you also.
