Oh of course, I got a casual part time job at a newly built long term care home nearby. I am starting on Wednesday, so fingers crossed it works out for at least two years!
• Where might life be inviting me to explore a new direction?
I have been restless for the past month and depressed. I cannot figure out what is the problem, but I keep practicing gratefulness and keep hoping for an insight to what needs to be born. I do not know where life might be inviting me to explore but I am grateful for each moment that helps me to hope and trust that the birth of this new direction(s) will help me to live the true authenticated life I am created to be at that moment. It is for me to be aware of what my senses are leading me and not to fear but to love this unknown gift(s) of life that need to blossom through me. All I have to do is take the first step of this invite to this new direction and to remember I have all tools already and assistance along this journey, knowing I am not alone. “We can relax and float in the direction that the water flows, or we can swim hard against it. If we go with the river, the energy of a thousand mountain streams will be with us.” Elizabeth Lesser
Kansha, I can so relate to your story of restlessness and potential shifts. Be kind and patient with yourself, trust yourself. Your life is unfolding this very moment in the direction you are seeking.🩷
Exploring working PT and collecting SS next year. Not sure if PT will be approved. Taking things at a slow pace and trying to not make an irrational decision.
My Dad is in the Hospital, he was in the Hospital in September. I hope they figure out what is going on. He is in his late 80’s and suffers from wheat allergies and somach issues that didn’t come on until he was like 80! Appreciate well wishes and prayers for him. Thank you 🙏
I have been a gypsy for so much of my life
that it is good to settle down . . .
sit in the sunshine,
watch the flowers grow,
and take the time
to feel the last of summer’s breezes
brush my face.
Actually,
I’m still working on the ‘new direction’ I began
the last time I was asked
if life might be inviting me
to explore some change.
Everything takes longer these days,
but I feel,
in some way,
that I am catching up.
But one thing I have neglected
is my drawing board . . .
my India ink
and my coloured pencils–
at the very least,
my sketchbook.
I believe though,
that practicing being mindful,
not only generates more gratitude and compassion,
but also moves me forward,
one brick,
one layer at a time,
just by its very nature.
I am a work in progress,
and progress is movement
however slow by the world’s standards,
and right now
it all good enough for me.
I am blessed to be alive at all,
and further blessed
by realizing,
with reminders,
that I both have
and am
good enough,
baby steps and all. ♥
To continue on my path of relating to others. Blissfully, I feel at ease in the office. It was where I first tried out new patterns. I hope to relax too with friends who I’ve made distant.
I don’t think life is inviting me to explore a “new” direction. I think my direction is good, but I am invited to explore how to continue on the path in ways that best supports me and those that will be a part of it. I do feel like I’ve been invited to explore the process of surrender in a deeper way. I guess that itself could be the new direction! Picking up my life and moving it again has had its challenges, but I am still grateful to be where I am and can’t imagine anything else. I know that I am where I’m supposed to be and am trying not to grip on to how I think things should be and when!
Life is always inviting me to go with the flow, to trust, to be willing to be vulnerable. For me vulnerability is another word for God. Does that shock you? It did me until I realized that whatever created us gave us free will. All the messes in this world can be attributed to free will. How am I using my free will?

Thank you for this,
dear Carol Ann . . .
I think that altruism
is the epitome of obedience to love,
and I carry it with me
whenever I go out into the world.
with love . . . ♥
I haven’t noticed any new directions lately. But, life seems to be pushing me, more and
more, to explore my inner workings.
The how and why, of my experiences.
And most of this, keeps bringing me back to the present. The awareness, openness, and willingness.
I was laid off recently. It came as a shock and I was super disappointed and sad. I knew the job, understood the goals, and got along well with my colleagues. But I didn’t like the role and the company. I worked unpaid overtime just about every week. Knowing that I have a few months of paid time off really helps. I’m just slowly and methodically figuring out where I want to go. It feels good not working full time and I hope to position myself to spend my time the way I choose. I have an obligation to partner with my spouse as we raise and support our three kids, so not working indefinitely isn’t an option right now. But I’m grateful for this break.
We have a change at work in an area I’m close to. It’s difficult and I don’t have any choice in the matter (other than to leave and it’s more important to stay and steer where I have some agency). My job right now is to be able to put it in context for myself and my team and try to build skills in all of us to accept with at least some grace and move forward. It isn’t landing as an invitation; it’s a directive from the top. It does require exploring a new direction. I’m reading resources at https://bothandthinking.net/ that I’ll be sharing with my team to help us adapt as we navigate the tension.
As Dory said in Finding Nemo, “Just keep swimming.”
I don´t know. I moved work to another town and closer to dear friends, together with a possible new direction of intensifying my already practised professional work there. I was and am so grateful for this new perspective which has been offered. Other steps are not yet clear to me. They seem to be related to gratefulness, which is always a good motivation.
Life is inviting me to orchestrate, to harmonize, to think through how my efforts and energy match what the outside world is giving. If I eat a certain way, how is my sleep? How do my activities affect my overall state of mind, and vice-versa? What are the immediate and lingering effects of doing something (or not)? What is the overall picture, painting, pattern, composition?
For the first time yesterday, I was able to highlight verses on the Bible App using voiceover on my Iphone. This means setting my business ventures aside and moving closer to God. Not too long ago, I was doing an excellent job focusing on him with the pattern of my answers here and am looking to return at least close to that moving forward.
A combination of Ngoc’s absence and that Japan trip led me back to my old autonomous, business ventur, and theatrical ways in the first place.
I have many friendships, and I have been thinking as of late, « am I tending to them in a way that is enriching? » This came to me in my morning meditations, just this very morning. I am going to stay with this question and see if I might explore new directions, in some small but significant ways, to deepen these gifts of friendship.🧡
Mary Mantei, I’m very happy for you. Having differenciated between friends and buddies, I thought I had many friends. It turns out that they were buddy systems. Pure compatibility utilizes the resources already there and points to friends. Friends feel more genuine, consistent, and there when needed most. Worldly compatibility feels pleasureable. Those buddy systems is how cliques form. Buddies, business, politics, leverage, and agendas all go together.
Life is inviting me to be more fiscally responsible (or creative – however one wishes to approach it). Impulsive shopping and thinking, “I deserve this.” has led me to a place of needing to pinch my pennies (or nickels and dimes). The invitation is truly one of creativity, and inspiration, rather than deprivation and restriction – I hope.
My daughter intoduced me to an App called Vinted where you buy and sell items. It’s actually been fun to sell some items
I no longer wanted and in turn buy some name brand items inexpensively.

Believe it or not,

you are right where you are supposed to be . . .
a direction will open up for you. ♥
