Grateful Grief: A Guide for Living with Loss Frequently Asked Questions

Is this course for me?

This course is for anyone interested in exploring the relationship between grief and gratefulness.  Whether you are grieving or supporting others in their grief, you are welcome.

Will this course make me sad?

We recognize that each person will experience a range of emotions, including sadness, as we explore what grateful living teaches us about the complexities and mysteries of our grief. The course will also nurture your capacity to experience joy alongside sorrow.

Note: Grateful Grief is not designed to serve as therapy or a grief support group. We encourage you to seek the advice of a qualified mental health professional should the need arise.

Where is the course taking place?

This is a self-guided course. Beginning Tuesday, October 3 and continuing every Tuesday for six weeks, you’ll receive a video of the week’s primary teachings and guest speaker, along with a rich collection of resources including essays, poetry, music, guided reflections, and more.

Can I move through the course at my own pace?

Absolutely. While videos and accompanying resources will be released weekly for the duration of the six-week course, we encourage you to navigate the course in the way that works best for you.

Are there ways to engage and share reflections with other participants?

Yes. Our course platform allows you to connect with members of our staff and other participants at whatever level is comfortable. Sharing in the course platform is optional.

How long will I have access to the course materials?

Course materials will be available through December 31, 2023.
