Helped me stay calm and focused to concentrate on practicing gratefulness instead of the alternative which was not being calm at all during a crisis mode.
When I am looking for answers or direction in my life…My gratefulness turns to prayer and my belief system, I am very grateful to have my faith and that is what helps me during times of indeciveness and problems.
When I’m looking for answers or direction, my heart and mind have to be open in order to see my life in a new way, in a way that is full of possibilities. Gratefulness helps me to shed my pessimism, my cynicism, and my heavy heartedness. Without these obstructions there is room for light, hope, an open mind and an open heart. Only then can I see the many possibilities in my life. Thank you for this question. I needed to clarify this for myself. ♥️♥️♥️
Well said,
dear Mary . . .
you have a way of writing clearly
and making yourself easily understood.
Clearing the mind
of everything but being grateful
really does help
to support our decisions. ♥
If I am at a crossroads, a fork in the trail, I hope I can sit there and stay open to the possibilities. Content to sit with the questions and the unknowing. Grateful to be able to sit there and contemplate.
It’s this ability, that sometimes reveals a third path. A new option. Something I couldn’t see or conceive when stuck in the binary. The answers won’t reveal themselves, if I’m not open, receptive, willing, and non resistant.
I sometimes have to remember that many of my challenges are also blessings. If I’m worried about my husband or son, it is because I have love in my life. If I’m challenged at work, I have a job, etc. Someone once told me that she used to pray that nothing would happen to her daughter. Then she thought about that– NOTHING happens? No challenges, no blessings.
Gratefulness practice helps me live my questions. I spent years looking for answers. I had the feeling that when I had the answers, I then would be able to truly live. I kept getting older with no answers! But as Kabir says in today’s quote, “Wherever you are is the entry point.” or as the character, Colonel Potter said in a Christmas episode of MASH, “If you ain’t where your at, you’re nowhere.” I think we have to live our questions until we learn to embrace and respond to “what is.” I look at my own country these days and it seems that we all think we have the answer. We still try to force our answers on others so I just do my best to BE the peace I seek. Some days I do better than others!
I’m still drawn to the Martin Buber quote I shared yesterday: “Real faith means holding ourselves open to the unconditional mystery which we encounter in every sphere of our life which cannot be compressed into a formula.”
Gratefulness calms me down and gets me back to the present. Sometimes that is the answer. Other times, coming back to the present helps me find support from a humble perspective.
It provides support by keeping me grounded. Reminding me of all of the blessings in my life. And reminding me that I have always sought answers and direction, and that – when I quiet down and listen – they are given to me.
Gratefulness is a good support system – it makes me remember to stay present and to be thankful.
I had the County Water out yesterday – plumbers coming today… my nerves are shot.. called out of work this morning. Would love some prayers and positive energy my way.
Sending you some positive plumbing energy.
This made think of the many plumbing disasters I’ve experienced. They were all extremely stressful. But I assure you, they were all resolved. Eventually. 🙏

Me, too.
Thank you, Katrina. 💕
When I am able to consistent with my gratitude practice, I am able to truly see everything in my life and be blessed with what I have.
It’s wonderful to see you here, Jenifer. ♥️

Thank you, Charlie. Beautifully said.
Yes,
dear Charlie . . .
and sometimes
if I step away,
the solutions are there
when I return. ♥
So true, Charlie.

I like this perspective switch — I’m going to try it! Thank you, Christine.

I agree,
dear Carol Ann . . .
sometimes
being the peace we seek
does more for the world
than we know. ♥
Carol, it goes to show that there are times where not knowing is better.
Be patient to observe; the answers might be pretty close to mine.
My Ngoc, often times, our curiosity manifests in toxic ways where we end up looking for answers quickly. It ends up getting us no where.
Gratefulness calms me down and gets me back to the present. Sometimes that is the answer. Other times, coming back to the present helps me find support from a humble perspective.
It is a sneaky one. I am not conscious of gratefulness when I am seeking answers but I believe it is in the forefront of my thinking.
It provides support by keeping me grounded. Reminding me of all of the blessings in my life. And reminding me that I have always sought answers and direction, and that – when I quiet down and listen – they are given to me.
Gratefulness reminds me that I’m where I need to be. Trust god. Everything eventually works out for the best.
Gratefulness helps me be present before looking ahead. It helps ground me in what is important and helps set my priorities.
“Gratefulness helps me to be present before looking ahead.”
Love this! Thanks, Deann. ♥️

Ah,
plumbing problems,
dear Michele . . .
some of my least favorite.
Perhaps
that’s why
they visit so often.
Take a breath,
and then another . . .
all will be well. ♥
Thank you Sparrow.
Sending prayers and positive energy to you, Michele.
Thank you Drea.
