When my children and/or grandchildren express their own happiness in some way, I am filled with happiness too.
Children playing and laughing–it makes me smile every time!
My loving husband. He is with me through whatever happens. We support each other and all those we love. This synergy is a powerful force. It serves us well!
Seeing my friends being happy and well after a relaxing and recovering break from all routines; the delight when perceiving the roses and other beautiful flowers and the delicate fragrance they gently release into the world; when listening to music played or sung together inspired by the heart.
A finished project in the workshop, harvest time in the vegetable garden, Bella’s (my Kelpie dog) welcome home, realizations of the Divine (which are all of the foregoing).
The presence of my mom, my dog, and my cat bring about a beaming smile for me.
So many things make me smile. Two days a week, I’m a chauffeur. I mostly work for very wealthy people. And sometimes I’m invisible to them. Yesterday, while waiting for clients, a small child (maybe 5 or 6), just getting home from school, saw me standing there, and gave me a little smile and a wave while going into her house. A few minutes later, she came outside, went to a nearby flower bed, picked a teeny tiny daisy, and gave it to me. Made my day and makes me smile now.
awwwww! how cute
Guaranteed smile maker for me is my beloved dog greeting at the door when I return as though I have been gone for a long time.
Being around the people I love. When everyone is comfortable being themselves and theres a genuine feel good vibe.
Seeing friends and loved ones in real life from whom I’ve been separated by time, distance, and the pandemic for years.
Hearing something good has happened for one of my children or my husband.
Our cat being goofy and playful. Right now he’s chasing his tail so he has brought a smile to my face.
Sunshine! Right now my part of the world has an atmospheric river dumping a lot of rain. We have a break right now as I type this but the grey clouds overhead remind me the forecast says heavy rain for a few more days. I’ve lived in rainy western Washington for 10 years after spending my whole life in eastern Washington/north Idaho where we had more sunny days.
Walking to the bay that isn’t far from our house and spotting a seal in the water. It doesn’t happen often so it’s always a treat.
I live in rainy northwest Oregon and I rejoice when the sun comes out!
The feeling of bringing a smile to others.
Serendipitous incidents in nature: witnessing dew buds on morning grass; a dragon fly who let me gaze at her iridescence splendor for what felt like two glorious moments; beautiful sunsets; quiet sunrises with bird song. People bring me smiles too. I’m finding more moments of healing via Nature.
My kids and my dog ! Any nature – flowers blooming and the ocean waves. Summer makes me smile !
Green..the color green brings a broad smile to my face and heart.
My kids, a deep blue sky, the bright colors of food on my dinner plate, a really good cup of coffee, watching moms and dads play with their young children, a favorite piece of music.
