The beauty all araound, being able to walking each morning along the riverside to the office, often in quietitude and sometimes in autumn or early spring being touched deeply by beautiful sunrises, gifted with a cozy home with kind neigbors ajnd a beautiful garden offering various fruits directly from the tree or bush, and my dear friends living close and dear kindred hearts are not too far away to meditate together, that the people here were so kind when years ago i came here as a foreigner to really welcome and help becoming home here. Not to forget to mention that living in a place where there is no war and all basic needs are available is something I am deeply grateful for, something how i dearly wish this would be possible for every living being.
The peace and quiet of the countryside and at the same time the liveliness of being close to the city. It is possible to completely retreat, to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of life and within half an hour I can reach everything I need: shops, doctors, culture.
I live in the Ocean state but we also have a lot of rivers and lakes. There is always a lot to do near by. There is a lot of conservation land and the state doesn’t like to over develop which is a big deal to me.
I live in a large city and appreciate a lot about everything being so convenient and the large diversity. It’s nice being able to get all kinds of foods and have a diversity of choices. I like the diversity in terms of cultures also, it’s cool that there are so many belief traditions and you can find a mosque, synagogue, Buddhist temple, Christian churches, Catholic churches, Hari Krishnas, pretty much any religion you can find has a temple/church here. It’s just nice being somewhere diverse and I like all my neighbors are different ethnicities and very different than me — not just in ethnicity but lifestyle choices and preferences, some are into hopping bars at night and some are super into meditation and tai chi, where it’s just everyone different where there’s more tolerance for that kind of diversity. I find differences interesting and stimulating.
My next door neighbors. They are so kind, thoughtful, and always there for me. I moved here to be closer to my son and his wisdom and helpfulness enriches my life. I miss my beloved Louisiana mostly because I have dear friends there but this is where I belong at the stage of my life.
There are so many things that I love
about where I live. Starting with the
the larger picture, I love living in a country
where I, and others, can express ourselves
freely. Now, of course that freedom comes
with a responsibility. That’s the tricky part.
Closer to home, I love living here on the west
coast, in this mediterranean climate.
and even closer to home, I love living in
my neighborhood, it’s quiet and safe with
lots of greenery.
I am in love with the weather in Florida- I love the abundant sunshine, warm tropical humidity, afternoon thunderstorms, and rainbows. The ever-changing weather patterns fascinate me, and I love tracking the storms as they pass. The massive oak trees draped in Spanish moss, with their twisting branches forming a natural canopy, are mesmerizing. The beautiful native plants, palm trees, and the variety of tropical birds in my neighborhood add to the charm. But most of all, I live living close by the most beautiful white sand beaches and warm ocean water that’s perfect for swimming. Happy Saturday all!
USA-> our freedoms and rights
FL-> the weather[for the most part], beautiful oak trees with their Spanish moss, fauna and flora, amusement parks, beaches, no state tax/car inspections
My neighborhood-> our peacocks
Wishing everyone a peaceful, joyous time on this Labor Day weekend:)
We live in an area that experiences the 4 seasons. Our home is in a senior complex and the grounds are maintained well with resident input. We are close to country parks, Lake Michigan, ethnic restaurants and a plethora of shopping opportunities. We still enjoy some quiet.
How do I love thee? Let me count the ways… 🙂
The Blue Ridge Mountains are beautiful and magical. I love the energy here. I love that there are trails to hike all over the place with waterfalls to be found. I love being close to Lake Lure since I need water in my life as well. And speaking of water, I love that I can drink it out of the tap here. It’s clean, crisp mountain water, so very different from the water in the lowcountry of SC. I love that we are still in the country, but we have all of the amenities we need within a short drive. I love how welcoming the people are. And I love that we manifested all of this after a really hard year. I’m so grateful.
It looks beautiful! I searched it out on the map – love the nearby town Bat Cave [I love bats so that stood out]. I have visiting Asheville on my bucket list, hopefully christmas time this year with Dad, we shall see.
It is gorgeous all around here! Bat Cave is a cool little town, right up the road from Chimney Rock and Lake Lure – all fun areas to visit! We’re about 45 mins from Asheville, so not too far all things considered. A friend that I used to work with moved there a few years back and she loves it.
This sounds lovely. I rejoice with you in your new surroundings. I love water also. I just started listening to BLUE BRAIN. It talks about man’s need for water. You may enjoy!
I’ll have to check out Blue Brain! There’s a book called Blue Mind by Wallace J Nichols you might be interested in. It talks about how being in and around water tends to our happiness and so much more. Really great read 🙂
I’ve been living here for 2 years and it’s the first space I can truly call my own. I didn’t have much when I first moved in but I’ve been able to decorate the place and make it feel special. When I have people visit, they mention it been cozy and it brings me joy hearing this. I view my home as a reflection of my heart. I used to get sad at the thought of moving out because I’ll lose my sweet sacred space. But then I realized that it was me who created this atmosphere, I brought life into this place and made it my own. A reminder that the beauty I see is within me, always has been and will always be within in where I go 🧡
Well, I am proud of my “Minnesota nice” people and I love Minnesota. Our neighbors are so nice. I will never forget the times when my father-in-law stayed in the hospital for his cancer treatment and my mother-in-law had to be there to take care of him. Our neighbor volunteered to watch over me and my husband, as we are both visually impaired. The neighbor on the right offered us free blond mawar, and the neighbor on the left took us to the grocery store. She even offered to help us with chores like cleaning the house or doing laundry. How lucky I am (we are) to live here in Minnesota with such nice neighbors.

Charlie, you and me share the same view on freedom. It’s high risk, high reward. As they say, “With great power comes greater responsibilities.”

Oh yes— you mentioned two things I forgot to add — no state tax & amusement parks! 😎

This is so true,
dear Jenifer…
and so important that you know it. ♥
I remember a question like this a few months ago. What I love about where I live are that it’s peaceful and we have the 4 seasons of weather.
And we also have such a wonderful 90 degrees which you enjoy the most! 😂 😂
It’s just like how you love the subzero degree tempatures.

Yes, my Ngoc, they’re very nice neighbors. We had the house to ourselves for a month. Then, we went to Vietnam together for 2 weeks.
