Living near the Ocean. Also I would say living near rivers and Lakes too. When I lived in Northern KY/Ohio area there were only water parks and of course the Ohio River but it wasn’t the same. Many man made ponds also.
Everyday I get to wake up and see the beautiful nature behind my house. Then I get to see the sun start to rise as a I walk. When I come home I start to get ready then I get to help my 13 year son do his hair. They are the ordinary things that mean so much. the ability to still get to have connection and another sunrise I get to see.
As I go down the list of “ordinary” things
in my life, it is obvious (to me) that none
of these things are ordinary. It is through
a series of fortuitous events, that I am
here at all. The air I breath, the water I
drink, the food I eat, the safety I experience,
the transportation I use, the people I am
connected to, this little house I call home,
and on and on and on…
I don’t take any of this for granted. None
of this is ordinary.
Nature is so ordinary that it is extraordinary especially as it copes to survive our misuse of it. It gifts/enhances our lives daily while we pollute the air, the water, and the soil, Please take time to read Richard Rohr’s meditation for today. https://cac.org/daily-meditations/a-pattern-of-reciprocity/

I have to say food – I’m forever grateful that I have it when many countries are struggling right now feeding their people. (Sudan/Ukraine/Gaza etc).
A cup of hot coffee every morning to start a new day is a gift from God.
