1. Our new home that my son, his Fiance and I own together.
2. Our fun pets Stanley and Brady
3. Many things to see and do locally where we live. Today I went to a free celtic/Folk concert at the Newport RI library
When I woke up, it was the blue sky on another day; a group of musicians offering their music in town on the street for everyone to listen to, where many kids played an instrument, and they all played together harmoniously and with joy, which brought joy and fun to the audience in return; this cozy warm and beautiful place I may live in. All wonder. Thank you for this calm and relaxing day.
The semi-feral garden kitties I feed every morning and spend time with while sitting outside reading the responses on this site.
The coast Redwood tree that I look at every morning as I sit outside. It’s tall and majestic and towers over everything nearby.
The small porch where I sit outside every morning. I’ve been in living situations where I’ve had no private outdoor space. This space is special and peaceful.
The delicious maple twist I bought yesterday on a bike ride outing in the sunshine, eaten for a “treat breakfast” along with the hot, fresh coffee my sweetheart made.
That same sweetheart fixing something on our vacuum cleaner; he’s so handy and keeps everything humming.
Our goofy cat playing underneath a rug where he goes to hide. “No, of course we can’t see you. You’re totally invisible and safe, Tiggs.” Then he comes back out to look for birds through the sliding glass door, making that funny chattering sound if he spots one. He’s indoor-only so we can also enjoy those birds. I marvel at the instincts he’s hardwired for.
As I sit here, drinking my first cup
of coffee, I feel gratitude for my
coffee (easy) and this warm and
safe place that I call home and the
ability to work and pay for this
incredible luxury. When I woke up
a little while ago, to get ready for
work, it was light outside!
I am so grateful to see another beautiful
sunrise (with three hot air balloons in
the sky!). It’s another sign that spring is
here in the California wine country. 🙏
I’m sitting in front of my computer screen. My computer allows me to make contact with all of you who visit this site for the question of the day. I’m so very grateful for this community.
Sun is pouring in my office window and my healthy, happy and beautiful philodendron plant is soaking it up. I’m smiling.
The walls of this room are filled with memories, a picture of me storytelling at Christmas while living in AZ.
A Mardi Gras mask from my years in New Orleans entertaining in hospitals, rest homes, mental institutions. Doing something I loved.
Mementos from my years performing in community theatre. I am surrounded with reminders of how blessed I have been with opportunities to build caring relationships that helped me grow.
And last but not least, this question inspired me when writing my Morning Meditation. It reminded me of all of the pain and struggle in our world today. Even Mother Earth is crying and pleading for compassion. I share what I wrote below and give thanks that I can share it here with each and everyone of you.
Morning Meds Weekend February 18-19 2023 Taking it Personally
Native American Prayer for Healing
Mother, sing me a song
That will ease my pain,
Mend broken bones,
Bring wholeness again.
Mother, sing me a song
Catch my babies
When they are born,
Sing my death song,
Teach me how to mourn.
Mother, sing me a song
Show me the Medicine
Of the healing herbs,
The value of spirit,
The way I can serve.
Mother, heal my heart
So that I can see
The gifts of yours
That can live through me.
My Take
Life wants to flow and provide each and every one of us with the show of a lifetime.
Oh that I would let it happen…let it be…let it flow from you to me.
Watch it move ef-fort-les-sly, like breath, like wind, in harmony.
NO RESISTANCE…NO ONE SPURNED…
JUST LOVING PRESENCE…TRUE CONCERN
When we learn not to attach…not to cling…we find that we are attached (part of) every thing. My pain is your pain. Your pain is my pain. My joy is your joy. Your joy is my joy.
THE PARADOX…nothing is personal but everything is personal.
#1 For most of yesterday, a visiting chipmunk had returned to my deck after several months. Another one was there part of the day. There is a multitude of little footprints out there, still bringing a smile.
#2 The sun is out and the sky is completely blue … hints that spring is on the way.
#3 Gratitude to the person doing my grocery shopping this morning.
The sun shining bright this morning and beaming into my home.
My big mug of coffee… I buy fun mugs and this one says, “All You Need is Love.”
The birds singing outside. They’re so loud and active this morning – I think they’re grateful for the sunshine, too!
SunnyPatti, I saw a quote from Ram Dass the other day. He said, “I don’t want to be a lover, I want to be love.” I wish they would make a big cup with that quote on it!

My body’s healing power – less than three weeks after a hip replacement I am walking again without assistance
Laura, That is Wonderful! I’ve had friends who had to have hip replacements and it has made me realize what a challenge recovery can be. It’s a joy to hear your news.

Bella, my Kelpie dog for her attentiveness and playfulness.
The pre-dawn for its sacred energy and the promise of something fresh and new bursting with possibilities.
The internal Youniverse for all of its mystery and wonder.

That’s a good one! You could probably have that put on a mug if one doesn’t already exist 🙂
Literally 10 mins ago my bluejays were screeching their hearts out too.
