It’s been a quiet morning–a new day for which I’m so thankful. Makes me think of that country song, “Everything is beautiful in its own way.” I will cook today and create dishes and desserts I can share with my neighbors and my son when he comes to visit tomorrow.
Dear friends celebrating, dancing, being together with an open heart. Such a Beauty! Everyone being welcomed so warmly. Shared joy, dancing, music, caring for each other. So warm-hearted. Grateful to be invited to share these beautiful evening with all these kindred hearts. Thank you life, thank you dear friends!
A sunny autumn day beckons to me from the three piano windowpanes in my front room. The yard awaits more pruning, trimming down un-bloomed milkweed stalks, long ago collapsed ferns from summer’s heat, and hopefully, a final mowing of the grass and invasive closer. Safe marching for those exercising Freedom of Speech in our cities and communities this day! Happy Weekend All!
My husband bought me a beautiful bouquet to welcome me home from my trip. It’s fully opened out now, with orange roses, deep red zinnias, yellow flowers I can’t identify, yellow lilies, and other beautiful textures and colors. He chose it because the mix was named European Fields and I was coming home from the UK. It represents beautiful thoughtfulness on multiple levels.
The bouquet sits on the island in the kitchen we remodeled last year, below a light fixture my sweetheart made. It has vibrant colors from the small lamps he turned into hanging shades; they’re tinted heart-shaped leaves from a plant in the Philippines. Light glows through the colors when it’s on, as it is now.
Our brown striped tabby cat is warm on my lap. He has a white “cravat” and four white boots and big, beautiful green eyes. He just ducked his head to invite me to pet the velvety soft patch between his ears, then settled down into the position I call the bread loaf, with all four paws tucked up underneath. When he’s like this he’s beautiful.
I also have the beauty of our home’s quiet and peace. Our neighborhood is quiet too, and I see giant evergreens looking out our front window in the big park that abuts the edge. Getting to the park for a walk, as I did a couple of days ago, requires a walk of several blocks but its beauty is right there for me to look at every day.
What a peaceful and loving picture you paint,
dear Barb . . .
I almost feel I am sitting with you
under the heart-shaped leaves from the Philippines plant. ♥
My Halloween desktop background of a huge full moon as a backdrop to a cemetery with a hearse will headlights on. Besides ’68 Dodge Charger being my favorite mustang car, I love hearses. I’m also having my morning coffee in my spooky season pumpkin mug🎃
The crisp autumn air outside this morning. A bit too cold to leave the patio door open, but I appreciate it, as I am ready for cooler weather to settle in and stay a while.
There’s such beauty in laughter—true, wholehearted laughter—with a dear old friend.
It’s healing in ways words can’t fully capture. After years, to still be able to laugh and love each other through a single phone call feels almost unreal.
So many prayers were quietly whispered over time, hoping that one day we’d find a way to connect again.
And in that moment, we did.
Gratitude fills the space between the laughter—gratitude for friendship that endures, for love that never faded, and for the grace of reunion.

The stillness of the new day. The rain drops clinging to the window. The robin blue sky with white/gray clouds.
The autumn light. Gentle, ambient light that makes the changing trees look as though they are lit from within.
My morning hot coffee, the beauty of jazz playing on the piano streaming from my speaker. May everyone have a wonderful weekend. 🍃
My Ngoc, I heard the beautiful jazz piano music playing from our room.
The dawn dark slowly fading to light. Frogs and crickets slowly drifting to sleep as the birds slowly wake one voice and then another.

Ngoc’s embrace, her natural sweet voice, and straight long black hair are here for me right now.
All of the beauty our home earth provides. Peace & Love. Namaste.
The beauty of the sun rising bringing forth this new day……a gorgeous fall day with endless possibilities.

What a beautiful, heartfelt response,
dear Kelli Lynn . . .
I can feel the joy and gratitude
in your words. ♥
Laughter, Kelli Lynn. Yes.
I went out walking early yesterday: the sun up, the crisp air on my face, feeling my muscles pumping. It was great. So much beauty! 🌞 🎈💕
Christina, the leaves are starting to change colors in the Twin Cities.
