Continue to focus on exercise, eating healthy and doing things I enjoy. I did do one exercise class this morning on my day off but also walked one of the dogs. Stopped at Narragansett Beach also today on this beautiful sunny day. Tomorrow more rain coming in.
Stay in the present moment & not worry about my future. Keep my focus on the Now. Do my yoga, take care of tasks on my “to do” list & get a long walk in, after no walks for a few days cuz of the rain. Continue to give thanks for all my blessings. 🙏🏻☕️✨❤️
Take care of my mental health. I’ve mentioned our business and how shifting from catering to a restaurant has been incredibly hard and quite the struggle in the area where we are. We haven’t closed the restaurant side yet like we were planning due to various reasons, but the whole thing has been taking a serious toll on our sanity, our marriage, and peace, and I had a complete breakdown this morning. I can usually pick myself back up pretty good, but I told my husband that I was calling out today, which means we cannot open at all. And that’s fine. I need the break and so does he! Even if just for one day. Even if I will still send an invoice for an upcoming event. I will still take the time to rest, play with the dogs, do some yoga… and find some gratitude. I don’t like future-tripping, but the truth is that I am really scared of what’s going to happen.
When I read this question I got up from my comfortable morning poetry-reading pose and got on my yoga mat. I’ve been–yet again–recommitting to a regular yoga practice, knowing how good it will be for my balance and mobility as I get older. I’d rather do my yoga later in the day when my body is more awake but I know how the day escapes my plans.
My future work self would very much like me to get through more of the week’s tasks before the end of the day.
For my future self…try to take care of myself…so I can maintain my independence. Aging is frightening…sometimes I forget how old I am – and that is a good thing. I will continue to work at being healthy and responsible in my care of self.
The future seems to look pretty grim with medical diagnosis. So for my future self, I need/want to stay in the present. To remember it is a present 🎁 and be grateful for that.
YRAM, I am so sorry that you have gotten a challenging diagnosis. You always have wise words to share…and I always appreciate your postings. Sending prayers and positive thoughts to you. You are a present to all the folks here. With Love.
This is a timely question for me as I am unemployed and don’t know what the future holds. I think using this free time to focus on my health ie my eczema, my back issues etc will help me be physically better in future when I will have a job again and have lesser time for these important activities.
this morning a very simple task came to mind–brush and floss before bed! I grew up completing this task. Lately, I’ve fallen asleep and forgotten this self care act. “Be true to your teeth or they will be false to you.” TGIF all! May you have a restful weekend.
Ha, that line made me laugh, Carla. I come from a family of people with great teeth and I want to keep mine. When my grandma was in the hospital in her 80s a nurse came to “help her take out her teeth” at bedtime. She proudly said, “These are real!” Life goal.
An encounter with a newly-diagnosed cancer patient has unearthed my need for support. Today I will reach out to a trusted confidante to process my feelings.

Love and be in the moment.
Eat healthy, get daily exercise, stay connected with others, play games, meditate, and always be kind.

Sunnypatti, enjoy your day off. Good to hear you are making your mental health a priority. Bless you & your husband.🙏🏻
All the best….❤️
Make healthy choices; do my stretches, squeeze in some movement where I can, & choose healthy foods in reasonable portions.
Maybe the best thing I can do is not thinking at future.
Trying to enjoy, as I can, my busy afternoon.
Have a good evening you all!

Yes Nannette, this aging process spares no one who lives long enough & it can throw me for a loop at times.
