“Peace” was the first word that came to mind. When I read everyone else’s thoughts it’s clear we’re all feeling that same need. I’d include not only peace among humans, but keeping peace with the natural world rather than harming and exploiting. We could meet our basic needs without the destruction we’re wreaking on the very things we need to survive–our air, water, earth.
Attempting to see things clearly and as they
are, keeps me from doing too much wishing.
But this morning I will make an exception.
if I had one wish, it would be for all
the young fighting men, all over the world,
to wakeup and realize that there is no “other”
and to put down their weapons and stop
fighting. All of them. All at once. On both
sides of every conflict. And to refuse to
fight any more. It would mean no more
army’s to do the dirty work of damaged
narcissists, living out their inner war, by encouraging others to kill and destroy on
they’re behalf.
“What you are, the world is. And without your transformation, there can be no transformation of the world.” J. Krishnamurti
I wish that my species would be willing to evolve. I share a meditation I wrote and I think I shared on this site in 2022.
When I read Ram Dass’ quote that “We’re all just walking each other home.” I sighed and thought it’s too bad we don’t realize and understand that powerful message. It would change the whole world. As to the question I found at gratefulness.org today: “How can I become more awake in mind, body and spirit?” You have heard my answer before: WILLINGNESS. There are many paths and disciplines you can practice but until you own your own thoughts, feelings and actions, life’s ups and downs cannot help you grow in awareness. As a fellow traveler shared at the gratefulness.org Hope Retreat, “LIFE IS GOD IN DISGUISE.”
In 1995, life as I knew it totally collapsed. I couldn’t eat. I couldn’t sleep. In the middle of one sleepless night, I penned a poem (The Wings of Willingness). This is something I frequently do when dealing with painful emotions. About half way through my poem writing process, I found myself putting these words on the page: “My job is willingness. God’s job is transformation.” I can’t change, fix, or most importantly evolve in any way without willingness. So when you see a need, act but don’t organize too much. Go with the flow willingly. Trust life and yourself through the thick and the thin. We’re not here to fight or flee from life. Our job is not to produce a product. We’re here to embark on an evolutionary process our species has yet to embrace, let alone understand. How can we walk each other home when bombs are exploding, gunmen are shooting up schools, politicians are lying, people are starving for food and affection and Mother Earth is pleading and bleeding?
I’m thinking Ram Dass might ask, “Do you have the willingness to exchange ME for WE?”
Blessings, Carol
My greatest wish for the world right now is no unsheltered elderly people, no unsheltered children, and also warm shelter for dogs, cats, and all living things.

True long for peace.
Understand that everything is interconnected and interdependent- that humans and the more-than-human are all part of the web of belonging,
love
Respect Mother Earth and stop littering! This drives me crazy, I just don’t get it!
Honestly like it counts for anything but stop destroying forests
Peace.
That would probably solve a lot of strife

My greatest wish for the world is peace & an end to all the greed.🙏🏻✨✌️🕊️🙏🏻
What i wish for the world today is to be human and to live in peace with one another
Peace, harmony, acceptance, kindness, and respect for all.
Acceptance, respect, and peace.
To treat each other as we would want to be treated.
My greatest wish for the world right now is no unsheltered elderly people, no unsheltered children, and also warm shelter for dogs, cats, and all living things.
My Ngoc, we don’t need a big house, but having a place to live can certainly make a difference.
