Today I commit to being a channel of peace in my best possible, imperfect human way. I also commit to get some stuff done, whatever makes the cut as important, and /or necessary… I have a mountain of pent up energy with an impossible list of outstanding to do’s. Like every human and non-human animal, my time and energy are finite. It is a stunning Spring day outside so… I commit to savour each moment, choice and activity with whatever dignity, grace and ease I can muster. I will bring a large dose of self-compassion for the gzillion mistakes, imperfections, and tasks that fall off the list, or don’t even make my consciousness!
Found blessing from Grateful.org a few years ago (maybe five, six or more…)
Spirit of Truth, I thank you
That I have all the time I need
To do all I need to do
Today
Calmly, peacefully
With unhurried grace.
So happy to see you again, dear KC, and to read your reflection.
I too remember the years when this site published Pierre Pradevard articles.
Thank you for this.
Well now, with a nod to today’s question, I somehow managed, with skill, a measure of brilliance and avoidance, crafted a handsome stack of promised computer work beside my desk. For two weeks it has sat there bothering no one. But today’s question has caught my attention and I am seated, waiting, hoping the phone will ring.
I need to pause and to rest. Today quote from Lily Yeh reminds me of the “Isness of God.” A term coined by Meister Eckhart: “I followed my passion and was guided by the light inside of me. That light does not belong to me alone. It is innate in all of us. Everyone has it. But more often than not, we choose not to see it.” Yes everyone has Isness. It’s our birthright but often we choose not to see it.
When I read Richard Rohr’s daily meditation I found another definition for this inner light, this Isness–something I think of as the universal Soul of which we are all a part. Richard calls it Home: https://cac.org/daily-meditations/love-is-home/
Loved this! When I first opened the link my eyes were drawn immediately to the beautiful photo at the top of the page – the kitty, candlelight, picturesque window…. then I read it, lol, thank you:)
I commit to be fully present in the planned activities:
Listening to a presentation on “a day in the life of a fireman/person.”
Enjoying a fish fry with my husband’s cousins
Celebrating the life of a priest.
Today I will write a few Thank you notes. We went to S.C. this past weekend and celebrated my nephew’s graduation from U.S.C. We had a beautiful time together as a family and unbelievable meals and fellowship. …so a note to the host and hostess for their hospitality. I am home again in W.V. and very thankful to be here. Today will be a day of renewed gratitude, commitment to care for my physical, mental and spiritual well being. That is something I have been lacking in for some time. Today is a new day and a step in the right direction. A promise to live gratefully.
My body & spirit are crying out for rest & prayerful re-evaluation of my current commitments. The weather here promises the perfect setting for this R&R.
I’m attending a conference in New Orleans and this morning I’m on a panel. The organizer proposed the idea of using a Dating Game format from the old TV show to talk about active transportation and transit and I’m one of the “bachelorettes”. We’re striving for both fun and educational. I’ll commit myself to fully entering into the spirit of the game and also to keeping my answers short so others get to talk too, LOL.
Give yourself the gift of free bi-monthly inspiration including uplifting articles, diverse stories, supportive practices, videos, and more, delivered with heart to your inbox.
I committed myself to visiting my Mother’s life time friend in Cape cod and plant flowers at my Mom’s grave site this over the week-end
Being calm, in front of the usual, infinite, Saturday to do list.
I committ to staying true to my word which is a daily committment.
To start again.
I will commit to being present and listening fully.
Letting go
I commit to getting up earlier and pushing myself more. My cardiologist’s main advice in addition to the meds is “push yourself”
Dolores, it’s easy for complacency to kick in. I love sleeping in myself too. That bed sure feels comfortable.

I had two grandchildren graduate USC. A good school. I gather you live in West Virginia. That’s one beautiful state.
