The timing of this question is appropriate as I have one of my best friends from 6th grade visiting with me right now…. Loyalty is a quality I am most grateful for in a friend.
I am fortunate at my age to have three fellows that are true friends. We do not see each other or communicate on a regular basis but all can count on one another in a time of need. We share similar humor, ethics and stick-to-it-ness. All have lost one or both parents, one a spouse, two divorced, one remarried, have children. One lives a couple of miles away, the farthest 55 miles. Basically good, kind, caring people. I am grateful to have them in my life.

That’s so awesome. My BFF and I have about a 28 year tenure.

A sense of humor, definitely, and kindness and respect.
