I like to eat healthy foods and cook new dishes, so I constantly look for new recipes. I also peruse nutrition research to review new data about foods. That’s a lot of fun for me!
I am a restless soul lol. Definitely not a couch potato or homebody type although it is not for wanting to be a social butterfly because I am not. I guess I just like adventure and doing many things. I got my renewed passport in the mail today. It said by end of August so what a nice surprise!
I asked my husband
if he thought I was quirky,
and he said,
“oh yes.
everything about you is quirky.”
According to his definition,
I suppose that is true . . .
I’ve never been a follower of fashion
or a ‘keeper up with the Joneses’,
so I guess that makes me quirky.
I was always considered ‘contrary’ by my family,
which translates into a tendency towards stubbornness.
I like what I like,
whether or not it fits in the trends of the day.
Women around here
wear pants,
and I favor long skirts.
I don’t go to the movies
or watch mainstream television,
so we have nothing in common
when talking about celebrities and movie stars.
My few friends
overlook my differences
and tolerate me,
but reserve judgment on my sanity.
I don’t talk about my inner work
because in general,
it is of no interest to them.
I don’t know if I appreciate it or not . . .
it is just my way of being.
I guess
I just have a different song to sing,
and that will have to do. ♥
I once had a guy I dated (for 5 yrs) say I was like no one he ever dated. Oh well we are all quirky in our own ways and that is not such a bad idea!! It is the way the good Lord made us!
I appreciate that I will talk to almost anyone.
And because of this, I am sometimes rewarded with something funny or interesting or cosmic to experience.
Sparrow, That’s a picture of one of my characters, the fearful angel. I’m sometimes (was sometimes when I was younger) asked to portray her at the opening of religious retreats. People usually arrive tired and enjoy some laughter and not too much deep thinking for the opening talk. The fearful angel is afraid to fly and the archangels consider her more human than angelic. She’s not allowed to totally dress in white. Her halo cannot show. She hops from cloud to cloud and sometimes misses judging the distance and falls to earth. She tells the audience jokes about biblical characters such as Noah who lives in the middle of the desert but tells his wife, he wants to build a boat. She indicates that he drinks a bit! The fearful angel is quirky!
Thank you for explaining this, Carol Ann. I have always loved this picture of you. I think it shows your openness and your sense of humor. I also love that it is on a tilt. 😊 ♥️
I still think
that you are quirky,
dear Carol Ann . . .
I love your fearful angel,
and the guts it takes to do something like that.
The fearful angel
is indeed a quirky character! 🙂
I am not able to perform the fearful angel any more. She’s hops around too much! The last time I was the fearful angel she was well received. She explained that falling to earth so often had taught her a lot about testosterone! She explained that she learned that a man who was bald in the front was a thinker and a man who was just bald in the back was a lover but a man who was bald in both the front and the back just thought he was a lover! 🙂

My laugh. It’s not a strange laugh, but sort of a loud and high pitched. It draws attention. I don’t care. I like people knowing I am enjoying myself.
Hmmm. At meals I like to eat my food, one item at a time. Usually I start with whatever I like best. When I’ve finished that I go on to the next favorite thing to eat and so on. A little quirky, right? Do I appreciate this about myself? I don’t know. I can’t imagine eating any other way. ☀️
I prefer this too, Mary. As a kid i also didn’t want the various foods to touch on my plate, with limited excepting (syrup on everything is pretty tasty).. That has shifted a bit, but it isn’t gone entirely. Those school lunch trays that kept the foods in compartments were perfect for me.
I can only drink my coffee out of a large mug. We have some “normal” mugs, but they are, in my opinion, just for tea. I need two large cups of coffee each morning, and then I’m done for the day (most of the time).
I am overly dramatic when I, say, hit my elbow on the dresser. My husband always thinks I’m hurt way worse than I am. This goes for my weekly chiropractor visits as well. I do more than get adjusted there, but when he does adjust me, it’s usually a very loud “oof” or something like that followed by laughter. And I apologize every single time. I can’t control it! I think he appreciates that about me more than I do 😂
To the check out person, “Thank you. Have a nice day and come back to see us soon..” When I get there first they will usually laugh. And that makes my day.
I like to tell jokes, but I am TERRIBLE at it. Dad jokes are the easiest, since they are mostly two or three lines, and more silly than funny. (Don’t tell my wife or other family members I wrote this!)

I love conspiracy theories, exploring unfamiliar ideas, and can connect dots in ways only very few can.

It’s great to have those people in life that ‘tolerate’ us! My husband does that for me….
I knew there were lots of reasons I loved you, Sparrow!🌸

ps. This was a scary one to post.
Thank you for the reflection dear Sparrow. I most definitely accompany you on the movies and television.
I appreciate that I will talk to almost anyone.

I say this without much joy! I’m not quirky!
Quirky can also be unique and your poems and writings are very unique and special to all of us 🌞
Thanaks for your kind words, Robin Ann
I think you are,

look at the picture of yourself. 🙂

🤣Thank you Carol Ann for being you! So much joy shines from you and your writings!
Thank you, dear Joseph

I understand the no items touching on the plate. I was the same when young. Pissed my folks off to no end!

As Christina loves a good pen, I love the perfect pencil.🌸
A perfect pencil sharpened by my pocketknife!!
Me too!!!
To the check out person, “Thank you. Have a nice day and come back to see us soon..” When I get there first they will usually laugh. And that makes my day.
That made me chuckle. 😄
I like being the catalyst for a good chuckle. I like being silly at my own expense.
My laugh.
I would much rather observe the world out of doors, than observe the television.
Peace. Love & Light.
Me too!
Me too,
dear Joseph . . . 🙂
Me too Joseph. In fact, I don’t own a tv @ this juncture in my life. It is by choice.
Have a beautiful day outside. 😊🦅🌲
I appreciate my energy level is high and I’m very energetic! Thank you !🤩
