Joyful spirit and love brings it out, playing music or singing, being together with dear ones sharing play directly, or kindred hearts who creatively are designing funny messages. Years ago a highly creative dear one offered a masterpiece of art to our group, where the art of kind mirroring of a correl of sand in the eyes of the perceiver and the presented would just brighten our hearts and minds. Unfortunately, I never heard of her again, but she may know that she and her work is timeless appreciated. May our shared togetherness inspire us all to awareness, laughter and joy.
young dogs, cats. Animals in general. I love watching a group of monkeys playing (in the zoo), or a squirrel collecting nuts, birds building their nests and raising their young …
My grandchildren definitely bring out my playful side. They have such great imaginations and love to be silly they play. They make me laugh and not take everything so seriously. They bring me such joy.
DANCING. I love it so much, I’ve always grown up with dancing and music. I remember my uncle telling me I was a good dancer when I was little. In middle school, I would watch YouTube videos of dances of allllll kinds but never had the opportunity to join a dance team/club. Nonetheless, I am still a lover of dance and will bust a move anytime anywhere. I’ve gotten my friends and others to come out of their shell and dance and it’s always so fun seeing their faces light up while they enjoy being in their bodies! Even if you don’t like dancing in public, I encourage you to dance by yourself. Even if you feel like you have no “groove” or rhythm, it literally doesn’t matter. Just listen to your playful self and just move!
I listened to a wellness event at work and it was about being more playful, it is very good for our mental health. Even smiling is. Many friends/family/Co-workers love to joke around and tease each other and that always brings on a lot of laughs. I love Celtic music and some of the humor at some of the events I go to. Being around children and animals are always a lot of fun too!
Music brings out my playful side; I love “kitchen dancing”!
I bring out my playful side. I find myself chuckling a lot! Laughter is so healthy & it’s free!
My dear Cousin Lisa. She is so bright & happy all the time. I can’t help but feel uplifted around her. She’s fun! ❤️
My husband, Peter and our pets. Peter has a great sense of humor and has always made me laugh! That is what I fell in love with. Of course, my pets, .my dog, Clancy and cats Finnigan (Finn) and Nora…their antics never cease to surprise me and make me smile. A great question…to make me think and smile!!!
My pets and my husband bring out my playful side the most. I have two dogs and two cats that love to play. My husband and I joke a lot it helps keep me from taking life too seriously.
Fortunately I can say my husband brings out my playful side. He often makes up lyrics to some song that describe what we’re doing or what’s happening around us and I chime in. We’re both pretty quick with appropriate rhymes and it makes us laugh. We occasionally go fly a kite and I take a bubble wand–my bubbles provide a great indicator of wind direction. It’s so important to be with someone who can make you laugh!
Our cat brings out the playfulness in both of us. My husband will toss a crinkle ball to him that he bats down with lightning fast paws, over and over, and we both laugh. Or we get out the feather wand and watch him hunker down and prepare to leap at his prey. We got him early in COVID and he’s brought so much life and entertainment into our home, along with a lot of play and laughter (and the holes he eats in my merino wool clothing, no laughing matter).
Laughter and music bring out my playful side. And being with people that I am comfortable with.
Being with people I’m comfortable with helps me to be myself. Add some silliness and some good music,
and I am ready for fun.
Life brings out my playful side. I make a conscious choice to be grounded and present. Humble and grateful. It is a direct path to joy, laughter and playfulness. Life is too damn short to take ourselves so seriously. Even in the hardest of times, every moment is a gift.

My kids. One turns seven in a few days and one turns ten next month. They bring out just about every side of me, but I’m certainly grateful for the playful side.
