My day is just about to end, but my purpose was to re-ground myself today. Re-evaluate what is important to me and what I want out of life. Calm my mind, listen to my body and be grateful for the life I have today. Happy Sunday everyone x
This question is so beautiful. My purpose is unfolding in front of me. When I am practiced up, it reveals naturally.
The purpose of my day is to be of service to others and today that looks like self care and home life.
To experience this life to its fullest potential on this fresh, new day.
Be good, do good? That’s what Swami Sivananda of Rishikesh said 🙂
To not take it for granted and let it unfold as is, not forcing my will upon others and myself. I am grateful for today.
The purpose of my day, other than completing the tasks I need to carry out my purpose, is to joyfully live the Good News and to lend myself to that greater purpose for those I meet and care for.
I hope that my day is like the stone dropped into the water where the ripples move outward.
To be here now with open mind and heart.
“Our lives are but moments; and sometimes the cost of a moment overlooked is eternity lost.”Morris Rosenfeld
When I’m in tune with my body and my mind it will tell me what the purpose for/throughout my day will be. Otherwise I will do my best to work on coming closer to my life’s purpose one day at a time. For me that is following the stoics’ belief that if people remember their inescapable deaths, they will lead more sober lives, live in the present, and take advantage of opportunities rather than postpone them until later (when they might not be available anymore). It also means to share freely of what is given to me.
I’m on vacation but Thursday night I fell and broke my wrist. We go home today. Today my purpose is to help my husband help me pack and get ready to go with my right hand out of commission and I am right-handed. My purpose is to pay attention to my movements and pain level and medicate appropriately to help my recovery, such as it can be, until I get the surgery I’m going to need. This isn’t the most fun I’ve ever had a vacation but I can appreciate our medical system and my sweetheart who is a wonderful, gentle caregiver when needed. i can still read and I know and appreciate that it could have been much, much worse. It will be good to get home.
Wishing you a speedy recovery Barb:)
Home for sure, Barbara, promotes healing by just being there. Hope the rest of your recovery journey goes smoothly. My best.
Oh no. That is awful. Thank your husband from all of us who value you here. Because of this osteoporosis dilemma I am in, I am having many thoughts of falling and broken bones. You just showed all of us how fast and easily it can happen. Please get well soon with no long term issues.
So sorry to hear you are hurt. I hope you heal fast and that you have no pain.
So sorry you broke your wrist, Barb. I know that is painful and hard to manage. I hope your surgery goes well.
Today I will take control of my life and grow closer to God.
Today I will be more fully aware of my needs and those of others. If the day goes well I will rejoice if it has challenges I will seek new opportunities. In it all I will be grateful.
My purpose is to show up and participate and be open and available to circumstance. And as always, to learn and absorb as much of life as I can. To keep my eyes and heart open and my mouth mostly closed. 😲😁
Happy Sunday to you all. 🙏
😲😁Mouths are open, Charlie 🙂 Thanks for your post. And I just learned that I can copy your and others’ cool emojis so I don’t have to go and get my own, which I am lazy about doing. Warm wishes to you🙏
To live fully, to give liberally but prudently, to cultivate where able and to always appreciate.
Building on previous questions and answers…
I think the purpose is to find my joy while going about the day, my chores, service.
Finding my joy is helped by adequate self-care.
The widest answer to this is that the purpose of my day, and everyday, is to try to reflect the love and light of that which we call God. But on a personal level my purpose today is to be Granny. Later my son and 2 granddaughters will be FaceTiming and the eldest one, who starts school tomorrow, will be saying “Read a story, Granny!” as soon as I answer the phone. She gets to choose a book from a selection I keep here at Granny’s house. So I need to rest up as I’m recovering from yesterday’s monster migraine before all the excitement!
Wishing everyone looking in a peaceful day 😊
Technology is the best and the worst. Enjoy story time.
The purpose of my day today will be to visit with my dad and step-mom – it’s been awhile since I have seen them. My dad will be turning 80 in October so we will be going over plans for that milestone celebration. I will also enjoy a beach day bc they live at Clearwater Beach ⛱🦈
This particular day I will enjoy and be grateful for the beauty and magnificence of the rocky mountains in early fall. Here with my wife to celebrate 34 years of marriage.
We are in Michigan but my husband was born and grew up in Denver. He is 83 and has been here over 60 years but part of his heart is still in the Rockies. I don’t know what he would do without those Colorado sports teams to bring some home to him.
Enjoy, it is beautiful.
Happy 34th wedding anniversary:)
To be grateful that I’ve been given another day and to try to offer something to the Divine in return.
I am on strong steroids for dermatitis and I am unable to get much sleep. Today I am trying to find some peace and rest. Also, ready to support others as needed. I am grateful to have Kevin’s prayer to share with my friend today.
Hope you start to feel better soon my friend.
The purpose of my day is to live it with sincere gratitude for all that I am and all that I have.
As each new day begins, I keep the following prayer, by Avis Crowe, close at hand and strive to carry its message with me through my day:
“Dear God of all time and all creatures, help me to live fully within the cycle of infinity that is your gift to me. Make me less fearful of the measure of time, and more fully alive in the time that simply is. Help me to live time, not just to use it; to breathe it in, and return it in acts of love and presence.”
Beautiful Kevin. Thank you .
This is beautiful and so helpful. Thank you. I plan to share it with a friend who has recently been diagnosed with serious heart issues. It is a blessing to me and will be to her too. Grateful for you here.
To be the best I can be.
This morning I am allowed to open a universal worship service by lighting 7 candles for different religions and saying a prayer. I’m already trying to get a bit into stillness, so that I can convey it nicely calmly.
Thank you, Christine, for your post and for lighting the candles for different religions! ✡☸✝☯☪☮☥☦- a couple extra; a couple missing here 🙂
I love that you honor different religions. Thank you. God is big and people can be so small in many ways. Your spirit makes the world better.
