Take a moment to settle in — wherever you are and however you are arriving. Remember your life is this very moment you are living — the only moment that is guaranteed.
You are here, right now, in this moment. One day you will be absent from this place, from your life, and from all those who love you. But today is a day when you can count the birds, hum your favorite tunes, dance your favorite moves, laugh until you feel weightless, and grieve all that you have lost. This moment — right here — is where all that was meets all that is to come.
You are here, present to yourself and to all that you need to feel whole and free from the burdens of shame and perfection. You are here with yourself, and you belong here because you belong to you.
In every day, the special part inside of you — that part that knows you are enough and that you matter, that part that is tender and loved — confronts a thousand distractions that may cause you to forget who you are and all that is important to you. But you know what matters to you. You know the people you cherish, the memories you hold dear, the joys that sustain you when you face those challenges that feel insurmountable. What is important is always visible when you stop and become present to yourself. What matters and what you will miss when it is gone is already known by you. So seek it today, hold it, remember it, cherish it, and say yes to it. This is your life, right here, in all that you seek and hold close. Not somewhere else, but in this moment you have been given, this moment you carry forward into the next. Tend to it by being present to it.
You can never get lost if you do not leave yourself.
But when you do feel lost, remember that you have the opportunity to return to yourself by becoming present to your life and all that you already know. You are here, and that is the most important place to be.
